Bentley's First Birthday 11-14-2010

Wow! We had actually made it.....we made it to Bentley's first birthday! What a sad and happy time all at once. My little baby was no longer a baby, he was a toddler! And he made sure we all knew it. Bentley has always amazed me with the effortless way he caught onto things. He was quick to sit up, roll, crawl, and eventually walk. Since the moment he was born, he always had an older look to him. I've always called him my "old soul" because he always seemed so much more aware then he should have for his age. From the first moment he opened his eyes, he knew more about life then I did.

I know I'm digging myself a hole when I say this, but Bentley was pretty much the best baby. He was the easiest baby to soothe and make happy. The only issues we ever had was nursing and some stomach issues, but he took it like a champ and eventually got over everything.....anyhoo! I'm getting off track, back to the birthday!

Because our families are so big, we decided to have 2 seperate parties to accomodate everyone.
We had the first one at my parents house but my mom has the pictures and not me....so if I get my hands on them I'll post them. She of course made her home made cake and even made home made faundaunt to cover the cake. It really was a cute cake and he LOVED eating it!

Our second party was at Jayson's parents house and we invited our close friends to. Jayosn wanted him to have a Superman themed party, so that's what he got. We got him a cute cake and a cupcake with a #1 just for him. By this point he got the idea about eating the cake and he went to town on it. It was so fun having all the family and friends there. I finally got some pictures with his aunts and uncles and grandparents. We even took the 4 generation picture of the Alexander men. I LOVE this picture and I hope to get one professionally done sometime in the near futrue. Yay!
I'm sorry for my crappy camera

Halloween - Oct 2010

We finally made it to Halloween! It was so strange to me at the time because the year before I had been so pregnant with Bentley, it was weird actually having him dress up this time! He had recieved a really cute Aviator/Pilot outfit from his Great-Grandpa Knight and Grandma -D, so we decided to just go with that since first, we already had it, and second, a jacket was the main costume so we knew he would be warm in it. =-) The only thing he needed was a hat.....which I magically figured out how to sew....haha Go me! I was so proud of myself. Then Jayson already had a pair of cool motorcycle goggles that went great with the costume, so we stuck those on his head voila! A cute little Aviator! Every year we always make it over to the 30th ward family ward, the church where both our familes go, and attend their Halloween party. It's always fun coming back and seeing old friends and catching up with people. :)

Jayson went as Po from Kung Fu Panda, and I was some kind of Biker chick......yea....haha

Grandma Alexander!! What a GREAT costume! Loved it!

I also got to have fun with Bentley and bring him to my Halloween Parade that we hold at the school where I work. All the kids dress and we parade around the school and finally through the gym where all the parents sit and take pictures. It was so fun. For the school party I dressed up as Minny Mouse, it's fun for the kids to see us like that.

And of course Grandma Knight had her fun with him at the school showing him off

Our LAST and final activity was to attend the Witches Night Out or whatever the event is called that is held at the Gardners Village. This is the cutest place where you visit all the shops with handmade items and eat the delicious food. For Halloween they go "witchy" on the place and put witches everywhere. It's really cute. My mom's dream for Bentley's first Halloween for him to wear to wear the infamous "cheetah" costume. She had made the costume when we were all babies and we had all worn it at least one time. So I of course let her dress him up in it and parade him around Gardners Village. He actually loved that place, there was so much for him to see. He loved all the colors and the music and the witches. It was really fun taking him to that and I hope to make it a tradition.

My little Cheetah (I know I'm spelling that wrong...)

The witch in the background was actually peddling and moving, so cool!

Aunt Josie!

It was such a nice day!

Davis County Fair - August 2010

A fun summer activity that we really enjoyed with Bentley was the county fair. So fun! We went with our great friends the Porter's and their little boy Jaxon. Bentley was fascinated with everything and really loved riding the pony! He also got to experience his first Rodeo! Yea yea!! That was so fun to do and it wasn't too long. Can't wait to do that this summer!

Yes.....that is a scorpian he's holding....

Gotta love Matt....

Jaxon is SOO cute!!

He wasn't too sure at first but he did enjoy it...haha

So fun!
