Walk Now For Autism

Hello all! Well, since I can't remember everything that has happened the last three months, I'll just be adding posts as I remember them. :-) For this post I wanted to post about our Walk For Autism. For those of you who don't know, my older brother Josh is autistic. He was diognosed at the age of three I believe. Fortunately he is pretty high functioning. He's able to talk, read, write and even cook for himself. He's lucky to be so self sufficent. He just turned 26 today but at the beginning of May my family and I attended a walk for autism. The walk raises money for research and awareness. Unfortunately, that day it was COLD and RAINY!! But we still enjoyed ourselves and it was really neat seeing all the families spporting somone they loved. The walk was held at This Is The Place Heritage park. It was really beautiful there and the perfect place to have the walk. Here are some pictures of that day!!

Time...

Oh boy. Well I know it's been a while since I last posted. A lot has happend....and yet i'm not going to write about it....yet!!! I have two more days of work, then I will finally feel like I have the time to just sit down and makeover my blog. In two weeks hopefully a new banner will be posted also. So much has happened and I'm really hoping I'll be able to get it all down for everyone to read. Oh well....wish me luck!!

4 Months

4 MONTHS OLD!!! Oh my goodness where did the time go? Especially with my starting back at work, this month went by WAY to fast. It definitely showed me to really take in all the time I get with Bentley. The best thing in my life right now is being a mom to this sweet little boy who loves us unconditionally. He's the light in our lives right now. The times when I feel guilty for going back to work and not spending all day with him, he gives me his big smile when he sees me and I know that he knows me. That he loves me and although he missed me, he wasn't sad. I love this little angel with all my heart and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity that I have to help raise him.

Baby Food

Well, we've done it. We've started baby food. It's so funny how I get so nervous starting things like this. I always think there is one right way to do everything and I get all flustered. But he's been enjoying learning. Here are the first time he tried it....and didn't get it....haha

SNOW DAY!!!

I could not believe that I ALMOST went this whole winter without one stinkin picture of Bentley in his snowsuit actually outside with snow....so here it is!!! Yay!!!

Jayson's Birthday Party

Just wanted to share some cute pics from Jayson's birthday party. BEFORE Bentley was born, Jayson didn't really like birthdays. He always thought he was old and that he would be so old when he finally became a daddy. haha I think I actually promised him that we would have a baby before he turned 25....and we did. :o) Well, HAPPY 25 SWEETY!!!

Bentley's Room

So we moved Bentley's room around a little. Our ghetto apartment floor is SO squeaky, especially in Bentley's room, so we moved his crib to another wall where the floor in front of the crib was less squeaky. Anyhoo, I really like this set up and just wanted to show it off a little. I know it's REALLY plain but I can only do so much without painting the walls :o) I also wanted to show off the rest of the walls in the room and ask for IDEAS of something cute I could do on them. I LOVE recommendations. I hope the pictures and layout isn't too confusing.

Picture Collage

I've always wanted to do a little picture collage but always thought it would be too hard. Well, my cousin Shelby showed me that it WASN'T!! THANKS SHELBY!! She gave me the easy tip on how to measure out where the frames have to go. After that......viola!! I actually finished a project!! yay!! Well here is what the collage looks like, its in Bentley's room above his crib....but I love it so much that I KNOW I'm going to end up doing another on in our front room .Which is fine becuase it needs more decor :o) Anyhoo, I also want to thank my amazing friend Heidi who has pretty much taken all of Bentley's pictures so far. haha Thanks so much Heidi!! Peek-a-boo!!

Bentley has this new trick that he enjoys doing. He probably gets this from me, but I'm ALWAYS pulling the blankets over my face when I nap. So I put Bentley in his bouncer and he falls asleep and I find this......haha I love it

3 Months Old

Just wanted to post some cute pictures of Bentley. He is 3 months old now. I cannot believe how fast it went. Especially going back to work makes it feel like it's going by faster. But it's been such a sweet experience. We would wake up to Bentley LAUGHING his head off at around 5:45 in the morning. He would just lay in his bassinet and just giggle. Jayson would tell me that the angels were telling him something funny. As much as we loved hearing his LOUD laughing, we also wanted our sleep, alas Bentley has been banished to his crib in the other room. haha I didn't realize how loud he was until he wasn't in the room with us anymore. I really thought I would get super emotional about putting him in another room, but it felt pretty natural and ok. We're still getting used to the routine of taking him out to feed and putting him back but it's going well.

Today felt like a landmark for Bentley. For a while now he's had two toys that hang from his carseat handle. He's never once shown interest in them until today. I don't know what caught his attention but I could see from the rearview mirror in the car that he was grabbing at one of the toys. It was SO cute and once we got inside I put him in his bouncer and attached the toy loop that connects to it. I couldn't believe seeing him being entertained by the toys!!! And he was reaching for them and laughing when he would get the music to play. It was very bittersweet because it made me feel a little sad knowing he's growing up. But at least I can enjoy all these moments with him. And it was perfect timing because Jayson got home while he was playing and he also got to see Bentley interacting with the toys. So fun!!

Valentine's Day

Well this year for Valentine's Day Jayson and I just took it easy. We just went to dinner and a movie. We saw When In Rome and it was ok. It was an entertaining-ok movie to see. Then Saturday we spent time around Target. lol We're very romantic. Anyhoo, on Saturday afternoon these flowers came to me, and then on Sunday morning I tried to make a cute breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes and eggs....but they came out looking funny. haha Hope you enjoy. The OTHER great thing about this Valentine's day was that Bentley turned 3 months!!! Crazy!
