3 Months Old

Just wanted to post some cute pictures of Bentley. He is 3 months old now. I cannot believe how fast it went. Especially going back to work makes it feel like it's going by faster. But it's been such a sweet experience. We would wake up to Bentley LAUGHING his head off at around 5:45 in the morning. He would just lay in his bassinet and just giggle. Jayson would tell me that the angels were telling him something funny. As much as we loved hearing his LOUD laughing, we also wanted our sleep, alas Bentley has been banished to his crib in the other room. haha I didn't realize how loud he was until he wasn't in the room with us anymore. I really thought I would get super emotional about putting him in another room, but it felt pretty natural and ok. We're still getting used to the routine of taking him out to feed and putting him back but it's going well.

Today felt like a landmark for Bentley. For a while now he's had two toys that hang from his carseat handle. He's never once shown interest in them until today. I don't know what caught his attention but I could see from the rearview mirror in the car that he was grabbing at one of the toys. It was SO cute and once we got inside I put him in his bouncer and attached the toy loop that connects to it. I couldn't believe seeing him being entertained by the toys!!! And he was reaching for them and laughing when he would get the music to play. It was very bittersweet because it made me feel a little sad knowing he's growing up. But at least I can enjoy all these moments with him. And it was perfect timing because Jayson got home while he was playing and he also got to see Bentley interacting with the toys. So fun!!

Valentine's Day

Well this year for Valentine's Day Jayson and I just took it easy. We just went to dinner and a movie. We saw When In Rome and it was ok. It was an entertaining-ok movie to see. Then Saturday we spent time around Target. lol We're very romantic. Anyhoo, on Saturday afternoon these flowers came to me, and then on Sunday morning I tried to make a cute breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes and eggs....but they came out looking funny. haha Hope you enjoy. The OTHER great thing about this Valentine's day was that Bentley turned 3 months!!! Crazy!

Blessing

Bentley was blessed on Feb 7, 2010. There were THREE other babies being blessed that day so the chapel was packed!! But it was fun seeing the other babies and there was such a special spirit in the room from all the wonderful prayers that were given. Here are some pictures of Bentley in his outfit that my neighbor Angie took (angiemuirdesign.blogspot.com) and some pictures with our close friends. I became inspired to take my own pictures so I borrowed my brother's camera and I'm hoping to take some more pictures of Bentley that I can post. :-D

Bentley's Blessing

So for Bentley's blessing date that was approaching, I spent a whole Thursday looking for an outfit that I thought would be nice. After scoring some blessing shoes for $2.50 at Kid to Kid and after 5 stores I just couldn't bring myself to spend $80 on an outfit. So, we decided to have Bentley wear Jayson's blessing outfit. It was a cute, simple outfit that I thought just fit Bentley so well. The only thing it didn't come with was a pair of pants. So my mom and I went to Joanne's and matched some white fabric and went home and started sewing. We ended up with some simple easy white pants that Bentley was able to wear for his 2 minutes of glory. haha Here are some pictures of the process :o)

Bentley Sleeping

Well before my "Sleeping Post" I wanted to show this picture of Bentley. He has the BEST frowny face I've ever seen on a baby!! He gets the bottom lip out and his chin starts quivering....it just breaks your heart but it's so stinkin cute I always laugh when I see it. haha He does better face then this but so far this is the only picture I've gotten of him.

Here is Bentley napping in his crib for the first time. )I'll be honest and say I do worry a little about posting these pictures because I know half of you will think I'm a bad mom for having stuffed animals in the crib while he's sleeping. I feel like there are SO many little tiny rules to follow about babies that it gets exhausting sometimes. I understand why they say take things out of the cribs, and once he sleeps in the crib throughout the night I will remove the animals, but I layed him in the crib for a picture and he just kept sleeping, so I kept him there. Think what you will of me, I won't hold it against you.)
:-D ANYWAYS!!! Back to the post. Sometimes Bentely doens't need to be swaddled in order to sleep, but sometimes he does. He is the biggest wiggle worm though because I'll swaddle him, then check on him 5 minutes later and this is what I find. haha He ALWAYS manages to get out of the swaddle no matter how tight I wrap him. I know he likes having his legs free, and as long as his arms are down he sleeps fine. haha So I always find him like this and have to re-wrap him and make sure the blanket stays off his face. This is his new trick he likes to do and it's kind-of funny but scary at the same time. :-D
